Clyde
Clyde "lived" with my grandparents for many years. The quotes around lived because Clyde was a stationary bike. The front wheel was a big fan. We'd get serious momentum on that fan, then let it peddle for us. So much momentum one of my sisters almost lost a toe.

My grandparents had a very gentle way of talking to each other. They referred to one another as Mom and Dad. Grandma asked Grandpa, "Dad, did you spend time with Clyde today?"
The sweet nature of this question did not set in until I was an adult. I need to be nudged to do things I don’t feel like doing. Sometimes needing a forceful nudge. I can be very stubborn and resist the push to get moving. I appreciate Grandma's encouragement to ride the bike in a way that is unlikely to trigger a rejection.
I need to spend some time with Clyde today. I need to find ways to let you encourage me when I need it. I need to find inviting and enticing ways to help you realize your goals.
Can I be compassionate when I try to help others find their motivation? Will I be willing to hear their support of finding my motivation? Have I spent time with Clyde today?
Be curious, be kind, be whole, do good things.
